PanayisPanagiotopoulos is a Senior Lecturer of Sociology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, School of Economics and Political Sciences, Faculty of Political Science and Public Administration. He is the co-editor of «Greece in the 80s. Social, political and cultural dictionary» (To Perasma, 2010, Epikentro 2014) as well as the author of the following monographs:

• The Event. Cruelty, war and politics after 9/11(Vivliorama 2003)

• Technological disasters and politics of danger. Regressions of social modernization in Greece 1947–2000 (Polis 2013)
